Brittney Ryan
Brittney Ryan is a Portland born storyteller, composer, producer, and librettist best known for The Legend of Holly Claus. She studied dramatic arts and music at the University of Portland before entering performance and media. Her Christmas fantasy grew from an idea sparked while she was appearing in a holiday musical, then became a novel about the daughter of Nicholas Claus. HarperCollins originally published the book within the Julie Andrews Collection, with illustrations by Laurel Long. Open Road Media later issued the title for a younger readership and describes it as central to Ryan's Holly Claus collection. Ryan's musical background also informed theatrical development, including her work on a ballet libretto. Her career brings stagecraft and narrative together, using classic children's literature, winter folklore, and fantasy to expand a familiar seasonal figure into a protagonist with her own story.
