A.R. Witham

A.R. Witham is a writer, illustrator, and audiobook narrator whose fantasy work centers on adventure, found family, and imaginative world building. The Legend of Black Jack follows Jack Swift from Chicago into Keymark, where stories surrounding an enigmatic hero give way to a coming-of-age journey. Witham wrote the novel, supplied its full-page illustrations, and narrated its audio edition, giving the project a consistent voice across text, image, and performance. The story combines portal fantasy with pirates, knights, talking creatures, magic, and difficult choices, while keeping Jack's emotional growth central. Witham continued the Keymark setting in later fiction, including The Crimes of Rooker Flynn. Reader discussions together with Witham's responses identify the book's intended readership and emphasis on family and friendship. The Legend of Black Jack therefore stands as the foundation of a broader illustrated fantasy world rather than an isolated adventure.
