C.D. Bell
C.D. Bell is the collective pseudonym behind the Weregirl trilogy, a teenage fantasy series created by a writing team that includes novelist Cathleen Davitt Bell. Weregirl introduces Nessa Kurland, a high-school cross-country runner in Tether, Michigan, whose attempt to free a trapped wolf leaves her with heightened senses, unusual strength, and a new connection to a local pack. Her transformation complicates her pursuit of a college scholarship while drawing her into questions about a powerful corporation and environmental damage around her town. Chooseco issued the 2016 novel as the first linear narrative from the company associated with Choose Your Own Adventure books. Chimera and Typhon continue the trilogy, expanding Nessa’s family history and the scientific dimensions of the series. Publishers Weekly identifies the team-based authorship, while library and edition records connect the C.D. Bell name to Cathleen Davitt Bell. Weregirl combines coming-of-age concerns, athletic ambition, ecological suspicion, and supernatural identity, giving its central transformation consequences beyond physical power alone.
