C.E. Johnson

C.E. Johnson develops fantasy for teen readers through parallel worlds, magical lineages, and the close bond between a girl and her animal companion. Bluestone opens The Ammolite Adventures with fourteen-year-old Emily, raised on Earth without understanding her origins in Acacia. Her growing abilities and the threats surrounding her adopted family push her toward a realm structured by unfamiliar forms of magic. Greenstone continues Johnson’s larger sequence, carrying forward the mysteries, alliances, and conflicts introduced in the first volume. Emily’s bond with Xena, a Doberman, is both emotional and magical. Johnson’s world also includes competing factions, fantastic creatures, and different rules for time and power across Earth and Acacia. Reading Bluestone before Greenstone gives the clearest path through that accumulating mythology. Together, the two titles present C.E. Johnson as a writer interested in detailed world-building, a young protagonist learning the reach of her abilities, and loyalty tested across family, friendship, and two connected realms.
