C.L. Werner

C.L. Werner began contributing to Black Library in 1999 through Inferno! magazine, where his trial story introduced the character Mathias Thulmann. His fantasy and horror work ranges across licensed settings that include Warhammer's Old World, Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000. Blood for the Blood God is his Warhammer Fantasy novel about Skulltaker, a champion seeking release from a curse in the Chaos Wastes. Werner's other Black Library work includes the Mathias Thulmann and Brunner books, along with The Black Plague trilogy. In a 2016 interview, he identified that trilogy as his strongest sustained work and named Witch Hunter and Grey Seer among his most rewarding individual books.
