C.P. James writes science fiction about sealed societies, technological control, and the consequences of corporate power. Dome Six begins the Cytocorp Saga inside a city built to shelter survivors after a climate catastrophe. A young technician's apprentice and his unconventional uncle investigate a mystery beneath the dome, where the official account of their society begins to look dangerously incomplete. The novel is the saga's first full-length book, following the introductory novella Exit Man and leading into Into the Burn and Out of the Seam. James presents the wider sequence as a dystopian conflict in which survivors learn that the refuge conceals a corporate conspiracy. He also writes the spacefaring Reassembly series, which follows salvage worker Geddy Starheart across six novels after an opening novella. Dome Six therefore represents one side of a broader speculative bibliography: a contained future mystery that expands into a struggle over information, freedom, and humanity's prospects beyond the dome. Its place at book one establishes the characters and hidden system that drive the later Cytocorp novels.
