Carol D. Leonnig spent twenty-five years at The Washington Post, producing Pulitzer Prize-winning investigations into government misconduct, presidential power, federal law enforcement, and the United States Secret Service. Zero Fail grew from nearly a decade of work on that agency and traces its record from the Kennedy assassination through later security breakdowns and management problems. To build the account, Leonnig interviewed current and former agents, officials, and whistleblowers. Random House issued Zero Fail in 2021. Her other books include A Very Stable Genius and I Alone Can Fix It, both written with Philip Rucker.
