Charlotte Hubbard
Charlotte Hubbard writes Amish romance centered on community, work, faith, and family change. Summer of Secrets launches her Seasons of the Heart sequence in Willow Ridge, Missouri, with the Sweet Seasons Bakery Café anchoring much of its social life. The novel follows Rachel Lantz as she anticipates marriage to carpenter Micah Brenneman, only to face uncertainty when an outsider arrives claiming a hidden family connection. Hubbard uses that disruption to test trust within a close-knit household and between the prospective couple. Zebra Books issued Summer of Secrets in 2012, and a later audio edition was narrated by Susan Boyce. The series continued with Autumn Winds, Winter of Wishes, Breath of Spring, Harvest of Blessings, and The Christmas Cradle. Summer of Secrets therefore serves both as Rachel’s story and as the foundation for Hubbard’s recurring Willow Ridge setting, where the bakery, neighboring families, and seasonal rhythms connect individual romances across multiple books.
