Irish, from Cork, and the author of the Boys of Tommen books, which follow a group of teenagers through a fictional Irish secondary school across several very long volumes. Binding 13 is the way in.

Walsh self-published the series first, and it found a far larger readership years later when Bloom Books reissued it. The books are longer and considerably darker than the sports-romance shelf they usually get filed under, spending real time on abuse, illness and addiction rather than gesturing at them.
