Author: Connie Brockway
Connie Brockway published her first novel, Promise Me Heaven, in 1994, after a BA at Macalester College and graduate work in creative writing in Minnesota. Eight RITA nominations from the American romance writers' association brought her two wins in long historical romance, for My Dearest Enemy in 1999 and The Bridal Season in 2002. A Dangerous Man, from 1996, puts an English earl with a Texas gunfighting past in the path of Mercy Coltrane, who remembers precisely how the pair first met. Bridal Favors picked up that world again in 2002, in a Victorian setting: Evelyn Whyte calls in an old debt from Justin Powell to save her aunt's wedding-planning business, not knowing that he is quietly working for British intelligence. In 2009 she wrote So Enchanting, a comic mystery set in a Scottish hamlet whose entire occupation is minding a young woman thought to have supernatural gifts. A Touch of Scandal, issued in 2013, is a short Regency novella rather than a full novel.
