Maggie Fenton brings a distinctly comic Regency focus to historical romance. Her Regency Romp Trilogy places Virtuous Scoundrel between The Duke's Holiday and The Alabaster Hip. Montlake published the novel in 2015. At its center are Sebastian Sherbrook, the new Marquess of Manwaring, and Katherine, his aunt by marriage, whose mutual affection is concealed by reputation, reserve, and family history. The Historical Novel Society called the result witty and fast-moving, and the trilogy setting connects their courtship to an established circle of recurring characters.
