David Hair
David Hair builds fantasy across younger-audience adventures and large-scale epic series. Unholy War is the third book in the Moontide Quartet, following Mage’s Blood and Scarlet Tides and preceding Ascendant’s Rite. Jo Fletcher Books issued it for the United Kingdom market. Its multiple viewpoints return to Urte as eastern and western powers clash, political factions pursue the Scytale of Corineus, and characters including Alaron, Ramita, Elena, Kazim, and Ramon face divided loyalties. Hair’s other projects include the Aotearoa novels, the Return of Ravana books, and the Sunsurge Quartet. He later collaborated with Cath Mayo on the Olympus series. Unholy War shows his preference for braided narratives in which magic, religion, trade, and imperial ambition affect characters across distant regions. The book’s third-volume position matters because its military and personal crises arise directly from alliances established across the quartet’s first half.
