David Morgan

David Morgan writes about film as a journalist, editor, and author whose work grew from sustained conversations with performers and filmmakers. Monty Python Speaks draws on interviews with the troupe's founding members as well as actors, producers, and collaborators, arranging their recollections into an oral history of the television series, films, creative partnerships, and disagreements. The original edition appeared in 1999, while a revised edition marking the fiftieth anniversary of Monty Python's BBC debut added a foreword by John Oliver. Morgan's experience writing for outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Sight & Sound, and Empire helped him frame many voices without turning the book into a conventional single-narrator biography.
