DK is a publisher, not an author. It started in London in 1974 as Dorling Kindersley, built its business on a house style of white backgrounds, cut-out photographs and annotated diagrams, and licensed that layout into dozens of languages. Books issued under the DK name are made by staff editors, freelance writers and subject consultants, usually credited on an inside page and not on the cover. SuperSimple Biology is one of the school revision guides. The design was the product, which is why the name works as a brand and not as a person.
