Eddie Trunk

Eddie Trunk brings decades of radio, television, and music-industry experience to Eddie Trunk’s Essential Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Published by Abrams Image, the illustrated guide profiles the bands he considers central to those genres through concise histories, discographies, playlists, photographs, trivia, and recollections of meeting musicians. Trunk began working in music before becoming known for programmes including Eddie Trunk Rocks, Eddie Trunk Live, and VH1 Classic's That Metal Show. That background shapes the book's mixture of reference material and personal commentary: its selections range across established arena acts, influential metal groups, and artists he believes deserve renewed attention. A second volume later extended the same format to thirty-five additional bands. The first book remains a compact record of Trunk's role as a broadcaster, interviewer, and advocate for the music he has covered throughout his career.
