Emily M. Danforth

The Miseducation of Cameron Post puts a girl in early nineties Montana into a religious conversion camp after her parents die, and it is regularly banned in American schools, which is roughly the argument the novel is making. Plain Bad Heroines is a much stranger object: a cursed girls' boarding school in 1902, a film crew making a movie about it a century later, footnotes, and wasps. Danforth grew up in Miles City, Montana and teaches writing.
