Erina Reddan
Erina Reddan brings experience in television production, journalism, and foreign correspondence to fiction concerned with authority and family secrecy. Her broadcast career included a Walkley Award, according to Writers Victoria, and she later pursued postgraduate writing study, completing a doctorate at La Trobe University. She has also taught writing. The Serpent’s Skin, published by Pantera Press and represented through Hardie Grant Publishing, centers on a tightly controlled Catholic household. Its mystery develops from the cost of questioning an entrenched family account, so suspense grows alongside conflict over loyalty, memory, and belief. Reddan's newsroom and screen background is relevant to her command of pace, but the novel's focus remains personal: silence shapes what relatives understand about themselves and one another. This debut therefore works both as an investigation and as a study of inherited power. It shows a novelist using professional knowledge of institutions to examine what happens inside a family when an accepted story can no longer hold.
