Ernest Daudet

Ernest Daudet (1837–1921) was a French journalist, historian, and novelist, and the elder brother of the celebrated writer Alphonse Daudet. He spent much of his career in the Paris press and is best remembered for his historical studies of the French Revolution, the emigration, and the Bourbon Restoration. Alongside that scholarly work he produced a steady stream of popular novels, several of which drew on the revolutionary period he knew so well as a historian.
