Author: Eros Corazza
Eros Corazza is a philosopher of language and mind whose research also reaches cognitive science and linguistics. Reflecting the Mind examines indexicals such as “I,” “here,” and “today,” expressions whose reference depends on context. Published by Oxford University Press in 2004, the study connects indexicality with self-consciousness, perception, social understanding, and reports of another person's thoughts. Corazza uses quasi-indexicality to explain how a speaker can represent someone else's first-person perspective. Educated at Geneva and Indiana, with postdoctoral work at Stanford, he later joined Carleton University's philosophy and cognitive science departments.
