Erynn Mangum

Erynn Mangum brings humor to Christian fiction for teen and general readers, often placing quick-witted characters in situations that test confidence, friendship, and faith. Sketchy Behavior follows Kate Carter, a talented artist whose classroom introduction to forensic sketching unexpectedly helps police identify a dangerous suspect. The resulting attention disrupts her ordinary school life and turns her artistic gift into both a responsibility and a source of risk. Zonderkidz's 2011 edition classifies the novel as Christian suspense. Mangum also created the Lauren Holbrook sequence, beginning with Miss Match, and the Maya Davis books, including Cool Beans, Latte Daze, and Double Shot. Those connected novels established her comic approach to relationships and everyday spiritual questions. Sketchy Behavior shifts that voice toward a faster suspense plot while preserving a sarcastic, self-aware narrator. It offers a compact example of Mangum's interest in young characters discovering that talent can carry consequences beyond the classroom.
