Eve Edwards

Eve Edwards is British novelist Julia Golding’s pen name for historical romance aimed at younger readers. Dawn was published by Penguin in 2014 and is set during the First World War. The story begins in October 1916, when pilot Sebastian Trewby searches London for Helen Sanford, a young nurse who has disappeared. Helen’s German heritage makes her vulnerable to wartime hostility, while Sebastian’s duties with his flight squadron place their relationship under a different kind of pressure. Penguin’s edition record gives a four-hundred-page length and situates the book within Edwards’s historical catalogue. Golding has also published fantasy and adventure under her own name and writes as Joss Stirling, making the Eve Edwards identity specifically useful for locating her period romances. Dawn combines a missing-person search, aviation, prejudice, and divided loyalty, using the upheaval of war to test whether Helen and Sebastian can protect one another without worsening the danger around them.
