Farah Heron
Heron writes romantic comedies about South Asian Muslim characters in Toronto, and the food in them is never decoration. Accidentally Engaged puts a woman who bakes obsessively into a fake engagement with the man across the hall, then into a couples cooking competition neither of them can afford to lose. Jana Goes Wild sends its heroine to a Tanzanian safari for a wedding, alongside the man she has spent years avoiding. Tahira in Bloom is for younger readers. Heron worked in human resources before writing full time, and the families in the books are large, opinionated and drawn without apology or explanation for outsiders.
