Fracaswell Hyman

Fracaswell Hyman built his career across television writing, producing, directing, theatre, and books for younger readers. His first novel, Mango Delight, follows a seventh grader learning what loyalty requires. The 2017 Sterling Children’s Books edition launched a sequence continued by Mango All the Time. Mango Fuller loses her closest friendship after an accident involving a mobile phone, faces setbacks at school and home, and unexpectedly wins the lead in a musical. Her performance attracts online attention, but recognition also forces her to decide which friendships deserve trust. Hyman brings extensive screen experience to the book. His television work includes writing and producing for programs created for younger audiences, while his theatre training informs the school-production scenes. Frank Morrison illustrated the original cover, and the novel was issued in both hardcover and paperback formats. Mango Delight uses comedy, performance, and a sharply observed school setting to examine honesty, resilience, and the difficult work of repairing relationships.
