G.P. Ching
G.P. Ching develops speculative stories in which spiritual belief, family allegiance, and unfamiliar technology place young protagonists under pressure. The 2012 novel Grounded opens the Grounded trilogy, followed by Charged and Wired. The novel introduces seventeen-year-old Lydia Troyer, raised in the isolated community of Hemlock Hollow, whose father’s medical emergency takes her into a society where electricity is scarce and politically controlled. Her encounter with ordinary technology becomes the entry point to larger questions about energy, identity, and the history she has inherited. Ching is also the author of The Soulkeepers, a six-volume supernatural series, and the later Soulkeepers Reborn books. Those connected works show her preference for long story arcs in which discoveries made by one character reshape an entire community. Grounded uses an Amish-inspired upbringing and a near-future energy crisis to create a distinct bridge between coming-of-age fiction, romance, and science-fiction suspense.
