George Gilfillan

George Gilfillan served as a Scottish minister, critic, poet, and editor whose literary work helped present earlier British poets to Victorian readers. The Poetical Works of Beattie, Blair, and Falconer was published in Edinburgh by James Nichol in 1854, with London distribution by James Nisbet. Gilfillan supplied lives, critical dissertations, and explanatory notes for the writings of James Beattie, Robert Blair, and William Falconer.
