Hannah Beckerman moved from television production and commissioning into novels, journalism, and literary criticism. If Only I Could Tell You is her second novel, an Orion family drama from 2019 about a secret that has kept two sisters and their daughters apart for decades. Its central concerns are estrangement, grief, guilt, and forgiveness. Beckerman's twelve years in television included producing for the BBC and commissioning arts and documentary programs for Channel 4 and Discovery Channel USA. Her later newspaper work includes criticism and features for the Observer and the Financial Times Weekend Magazine. She has also chaired literary events and judged book prizes.
