Heather Albano

Heather Albano combines speculative history with her work as a writer and game designer. Timekeeper is the second volume in her Keeping Time trilogy, following Timepiece and preceding Timebound. Stillpoint Digital Press classifies the novel as science fiction shaped by steampunk time travel, historical romance, and adventure. Its alternate history brings together a distorted nineteenth century, steam-powered airships, the Battle of Waterloo, and figures drawn from the worlds of Napoleon and Frankenstein. The series follows travelers trying to repair history after unintended changes, so personal loyalties repeatedly meet the larger consequences of altered events. Albano’s game-design background suits that structure: choices produce branching dangers, and historical details become active parts of the plot rather than decorative scenery. ISBN 9781938808357 identifies this 2012 second volume. Its place between an opening disruption and a later conclusion makes it the series hinge, expanding both its chronology and its central moral problem.
