For All Time concludes the four-book Time Travelers sequence that began with Both Sides of Time. Delacorte published the novel in 2001, placing Annie Lockwood's search for Strat across modern New York, 1899 Cairo, and ancient Egypt. Annie hopes an Egyptian photograph will return her to Strat's period, but the movement through time separates them further and introduces Renifer and Camilla Mateusz as important parallel characters. Cooney uses the shifting chronology to connect romance with archaeological discovery and the limits of controlling history. For All Time extends a series already built around Annie and Strat while giving its final installment a wider geographical and historical range. Cooney's broader career includes the Janie Johnson books and many standalone novels for teen readers, but this title belongs specifically to the Time Travelers quartet and depends on relationships developed across the earlier three volumes.
