Holly Lisle made a wide-ranging American literary career in fantasy, science fiction, romantic suspense, and writing instruction. Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood, first published by Baen Books in 1997, opens her Cadence Drake sequence. It follows Cady Drake, a finder of lost objects, and technical specialist Badger Bede as they search for an advanced stolen spacecraft and uncover connections to Cady's past. Warpaint continues the sequence, while stories collected as the Longview Chronicles occupy the same larger setting. Lisle's fantasy bibliography includes the Arhel books, the Secret Texts, the Korre novels Talyn and Hawkspar, and the Moon & Sun series for younger readers. Fire in the Mist, her first published novel, received the Compton Crook Award. She also collaborated with writers including Mercedes Lackey and S. M. Stirling. Alongside fiction, Lisle created extensive guides and courses on character, plot, scenes, language, and world building. Hunting the Corrigan’s Blood combines a space mystery with the character-driven consequences that recur across her genre work.
