Honoré Willsie Morrow (1880–1940) was an American novelist, editor, and journalist, born Nora Bryant McCue in Ottumwa, Iowa, and educated at the University of Wisconsin, where she took a degree in English in 1902. She edited The Delineator, a large American women's magazine, from 1914 to 1919, and reported on immigration, divorce, and the U.S. Reclamation Service. Her early fiction, published as Honoré Willsie, drew on the Arizona desert and Western mining districts she knew from her first marriage, to the engineer Henry Elmer Willsie; she took the name Morrow after marrying the publisher William Morrow in 1923. She is now best remembered for the Great Captain trilogy on Abraham Lincoln: Forever Free (1927), With Malice Toward None (1928), and The Last Full Measure (1930).
