Ivy Adams
Ivy Adams is the shared pen name of Austin-based friends Emily McKay, Shellee Roberts, and Tracy Deebs. Their collaborative teen novel The International Kissing Club was issued by Walker in 2012. It follows four Texas friends whose exchange programs send them to different countries, where an online club helps them remain connected while each negotiates travel, friendship, family expectations, and first relationships. The book's rotating viewpoints suit its collective authorship: separate voices contribute to one story about distance and belonging. McKay, Roberts, and Deebs also developed individual writing careers, while Deebs later identified the Adams name as the pseudonym used for this coauthored teen novel. The International Kissing Club therefore occupies a distinct place in all three bibliographies rather than representing a single writer's hidden identity. Its international premise, contemporary school-age cast, and emphasis on communication place it within early-2010s teen fiction influenced by social media and cross-cultural travel.
