J. S. Raynor

J. S. Raynor is the publishing name used by John Stephen Raynor, a Cheshire-based writer whose own loss of sight informs parts of his fiction. Blind Fright, issued by Lulu in 2019, follows twenty-seven-year-old Tonie Buckingham as he moves into a house in Sale with his guide dog, Kelly. Unexplained disturbances interrupt his effort to establish an independent home, and colleague Suzanne helps him investigate the building’s past. The novel combines a paranormal mystery with the practical perspective of a protagonist navigating without sight. Raynor’s author record also connects him with A Comfortable Death, a work shaped partly by his wife Aleth’s childhood experiences in the Philippines, and later titles involving recurring character Lisa Tiguelo.
