Jane Mayer

Mayer has been a New Yorker staff writer since 1995, and before that was the first woman appointed a Wall Street Journal White House correspondent. The Dark Side documented how the treatment of detainees became American policy after 2001. Dark Money traces the network of donors, foundations and think tanks built by Charles and David Koch and others to move American politics rightward across decades, and it took years of work against people with the resources to make that difficult. She has also reported on Supreme Court nominations, on Roger Ailes, and on the funding of state politics.
