Jenna Brandt

Jenna Brandt writes romance across historical, inspirational, and contemporary settings, often organizing books around professions and close communities. Small Town Splurge is the second Hero Search and Rescue novel and carries the fuller description A Sweet K9 Handler Romantic Comedy. It pairs Hunter Oakley, a police officer helping launch a K9 training school, with Avery Cunningham, a chef newly arrived in Hero, Texas, to work at her friend’s bed-and-breakfast. Accidents, spilled coffee, and mutual irritation give the romance an opposites-attract rhythm. The academy and town keep bringing them together while each tries to establish a new working life. Brandt places their friction inside an ensemble introduced in Small Town Start and continued through later alliterative titles. Her other books include Victorian, western, and first-responder romances, but this story uses a modern small town, specialized training program, and recurring neighbors to turn workplace disruption into courtship.
