Jonas Lie

Jonas Lie (1833-1908) was a Norwegian novelist, poet, and playwright counted among the four great writers of nineteenth-century Norway, alongside Ibsen, Bjornson, and Kielland. He drew on his coastal upbringing and the folklore of the north to write realist novels shaded with the supernatural.
