Joseph Nguyen
Don't Believe Everything You Think reduces to a single proposition, repeated: suffering does not come from circumstances or emotions but from thinking about them, and the thinking is optional.
Nguyen self-published it and it moved enormously through social media, and the book is very short with a great deal of white space.
He is not a therapist or a researcher and does not claim to be. The idea is a plain restatement of things found in Buddhist practice and in cognitive therapy, and readers who have met either will find little that is new.
