Josh Roberts

Josh Roberts writes middle-grade fantasy and mystery, grounding supernatural plots in friendships and recognizable small-town pressures. The Witches of Willow Cove, published by Owl Hollow Press in 2020, introduces thirteen-year-old Abby Shepherd and her friend Robby O'Reilly in a Massachusetts community with a concealed magical history. Abby learns that she is a witch and joins other young practitioners, while Robby pursues a missing-person puzzle that reaches into the town's past. Roberts balances coven lore and paranormal danger with changing friendships, jealousy, family secrets, and the uncertainty of early adolescence. The novel opened the Witches of Willow Cove series and was followed by The Curse of Willow Cove. Roberts has described the series as one of his projects with Owl Hollow Press, alongside the later Victoria Dare books. The Witches of Willow Cove establishes his characteristic blend of group adventure, local history, and young characters learning that trust can be as difficult as magic.
