Karen Moriarty

Karen Moriarty is an author and former licensed psychologist whose nonfiction includes work on family and public figures. Defending a King is her study of Michael Jackson's life, career, private pressures, and legacy. The complete title is Defending a King: His Life & Legacy. Moriarty began the project after Jackson's death, conducted extended research, and drew on interviews or assistance from people associated with him, including members of his security team. Outskirts Press issued a revised edition in 2012. The book is openly sympathetic, approaching Jackson through psychological interpretation, documented events, and testimony from people within his professional circle.
