Laura Jane Williams

Laura Jane Williams builds contemporary romantic comedies around missed connections, modern work, friendship, and badly timed encounters. Our Stop, her first novel, follows Nadia and Daniel, regulars on the same London train whose near-romance unfolds through a newspaper message and repeated near misses. One Night With You pairs Ruby, leaving London for a filmmaking course in Manchester, with Nic, arriving in London after a breakup. Their chance meeting tests whether one evening can outlast two moves in opposite directions. Avon published Our Stop in 2019 and One Night With You in 2022. Williams's wider bibliography includes nonfiction and YA writing, but these two novels show her particular interest in chance, communication, and the practical complications that follow an immediate attraction.
