Liz Climo drew for The Simpsons from 2003 to 2017, working as an animator, character layout artist and storyboard revisionist, and she contributed to The Simpsons Movie in 2007. A Bay Area native born in 1981, she was turned down by the animation programme at San Jose State University and hired by the show anyway before she finished her degree. The gag comics she began posting to Tumblr, small strips starring bears, rabbits, dinosaurs and other round-faced animals, found a far larger audience than the day job and turned into books. You're Mom: A Little Book for Mothers reached print through Flatiron Books in April 2020, gathering upwards of a hundred drawings about the different routes into motherhood and the ordinary indignities that follow. A companion volume, You're Dad, arrived in 2021. Climo also wrote and illustrated the Rory the Dinosaur picture books, and she lives in Los Angeles.
