Ashley March

Ashley March foregrounds status, family obligation, and women negotiating Victorian restrictions in her historical romance. My Lady Rival, published by Berkley in 2012, is the second A Belgrave Square Affair novel and brings those interests into a conflict between two families. Alexander Laurie seeks marriage to protect his family's position, while Willa Stratton arrives with reasons to disrupt his plans. The rivalry gives March room to connect courtship with wealth, reputation, and access to London's social elite. Her other books include Seducing the Duchess, Romancing Lady Cecily, and Romancing the Countess, each using the expectations attached to rank as pressure on personal choice. March is a Texas native who settled in Colorado, and publisher biographies place her work firmly within historical romance. My Lady Rival differs from a simple title-based feud because its characters inherit a business conflict that shapes their options before affection develops. The novel therefore links its romantic plot to the economic mobility and social gatekeeping behind the polished surface of Belgrave Square.
