Mara Rutherford

Mara Rutherford places court politics, sisterhood, romance, and unusual systems of magic at the heart of her YA fantasy. Kingdom of Sea and Stone is the second book in the Crown of Coral and Pearl duology. It returns to Nor as she tries to protect her home with Prince Talin and her twin, Zadie, while an old rival and a widening conflict threaten their kingdoms. Luminous is a standalone fantasy about Liora, whose hidden magical ability becomes essential when her sister is summoned and her friend Evran disappears. Inkyard Press published both novels. Although one continues an established world and the other begins anew, each follows a young woman deciding when secrecy protects her, when it limits her choices, and whom she can trust with power.
