Scarlett St. Clair
A Touch of Darkness rewrites the Persephone and Hades story with Persephone as a journalism student in a modern New Athens, and Hades running a nightclub where what he collects from people are bargains rather than souls.
St. Clair has a background in library science and writes quickly, across several parallel series that cover the same pantheon from different characters' points of view, so a reader can enter almost anywhere.
The books are explicit, and the mythology is handled loosely enough that classicists wince. The readership has never once cared.
