Author: Molly Shannon

Molly Shannon is an American actor and comedian whose performances span sketch comedy, film, television, and the stage. She spent six seasons on Saturday Night Live, where her physically committed characters included Mary Katherine Gallagher, later carried into the film Superstar. Written with Sean Wilsey, Hello, Molly!: A Memoir moves from early family loss and Shannon's Cleveland childhood to drama training, self-produced performances in Los Angeles, and her eventual place in the Saturday Night Live cast. Ecco issued the memoir in 2022. Its account links persistence and improvisation to the complicated influence of her father and to the creative freedom behind her comic work.
