Natalie Jenner
Jenner practised law briefly, ran an independent bookshop in Ontario that lasted about a year, and wrote five novels nobody bought before The Jane Austen Society sold in 2019. It follows eight villagers in Chawton in 1945 trying to save Austen's cottage from being broken up. Bloomsbury Girls moves to a London bookshop in 1950 and the three women working under a set of rules written by men. Both novels are about people trying to rescue something literary that the world has stopped valuing, which is more or less what happened to her shop.
