Neil Clarke
Neil Clarke founded Clarkesworld Magazine and serves as its editor, building a career around short science fiction, fantasy, and speculative-fiction anthologies. Clarkesworld Issue 100 marks the publication’s January 2015 milestone; its full issue title is Clarkesworld Magazine Issue 100. Wyrm Publishing released it in electronic form, with Clarke credited as editor and contributor. Its fiction lineup includes work by Aliette de Bodard, Tang Fei, Naomi Kritzer, Kij Johnson, Zhang Ran, Catherynne M. Valente, Jay Lake, Damien Broderick, and Karl Schroeder. The issue also carries nonfiction by Jason Heller, an interview with Xia Jia, Cat Rambo’s Another Word column, and Clarke’s own editorial. Julie Dillon supplied the cover art. The contents show the editorial range that has defined Clarkesworld: original and classic speculative fiction, translated work, interviews, criticism, and illustration gathered in a monthly format. Issue 100 also introduced readers to Naomi Kritzer’s Cat Pictures Please, which later received major genre recognition.
