Patricia Lockwood
1982
Lockwood arrived through poetry posted online, including one much-argued-over poem about assault that travelled further than most published verse of that decade. Priestdaddy is a memoir of moving back in with her parents, her father being a married Catholic priest admitted by dispensation, who wears very little around the house and plays electric guitar. No One Is Talking About This is written in fragments in the voice of somebody who lives inside the internet, until a family emergency arrives and the fragments have to carry it. She writes long essays for the London Review of Books.
