Lynn Steger Strong
1983
Lynn Steger Strong writes novels and essays that examine family, economic pressure, friendship and work. Want brings bankruptcy, motherhood and privilege into a compressed story of strain and connection. Her first novel, Hold Still, appeared in 2016, and her later fiction includes Flight and The Float Test. The New Yorker, Harper's, New York magazine and The Paris Review have published her nonfiction. She also teaches writing at Princeton. Across fiction and criticism, her work attends closely to the gap between material security and the emotional demands placed on families and friends.
