Phil Stutz
📚 1 Book ✍️ Health 📄 PDF & EPUB 🌍 United States

Stutz trained as a psychiatrist and worked at Rikers Island before going into private practice in Los Angeles, where his patients have included a good many people in the film industry. The Tools, written with Barry Michels, breaks with the analytic tradition he was trained in by handing patients specific visualisation exercises to use in the moment rather than years of excavation. Analysts objected that this is not therapy. Jonah Hill made a documentary about him in 2022 in which Stutz treats Hill on camera and talks about his own Parkinson's disease and his brother's death.
