Quinta Brunson

Quinta Brunson is a writer, actor, comedian, and producer whose work moved from self-made online sketches to network television. She Memes Well gathers personal essays about that path, including her Philadelphia upbringing, early viral videos, BuzzFeed production work, and efforts to preserve an individual comic voice inside larger media institutions. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt released the collection in June 2021. Brunson is also the creator, executive producer, writer, and lead performer of ABC's Abbott Elementary, which premiered in December 2021 and extended her observational humor into a workplace sitcom. The book appeared during Brunson's transition from internet comedy into network television, using memoir and cultural commentary to show how online comedy shaped both her public image and her approach to authorship.
